Body category Created to help those suffering from hernias, Coloplast's garments were three years in development.Therapeutic but attractiveColoplast and two designers developed the line with intimate understanding of the users – combining the look and feel of regular underwear with a flexible medical device. Distributed worldwide, Corsinel improves life for users on a global scale Developing Corsinel, Coloplast collaborated with the two Danish designers Annette Meyer and Astrid Krogh in order to create a tasteful solution to the inconveniences of a hernia. Providing maximum support while resembling regular underwear both in looks, flexibility and comfort, Corsinel helps users lead more normal lives. The garment, designed in different styles for both men and women, is comfortable to wear and allows the wearer freedom of movement for a more active lifestyle. Finding the non-medical lookCorsinel offers effective support to the hernia by adding pressure from the outside and stabilising the abdominal area. This helps re-establish a normal body profile by flattening the bulge of the hernia. Made of 50% polyamide and 50% elastane, Corsinel is more flexible than traditional support garments. Furthermore, the garment has no inconvenient side seams and is supplied with an even silicone layer on the inside of the lining making the garment stay in place. The 3½ years long product development process involved users of support garments and hernia nurses as well as the two designers Annette Meyer and Astrid Krogh. The involvement of users, nurses and designers has created a tasteful end result that meets the needs of users. The Corsinel support garments are thereby a well-fitting and comfortable product, which offers effective support, better body harmony and balance whilst still looking like traditional underwear.
