DONATE LIFESTRAW TO HAITI
Access to clean water was a need in Haiti before the earthquake, now it’s even more vital for their survival, since most sources of water supply are contaminated with human waste and germs for hepatitis, cholera, malaria, typhoid, and chronic diarrhea.

The population of Haiti is currently displaced, what displaces them to treat their water with “home solutions” such as boiling. The risk of outbreak of diseases is very high due to the lack of clean water.

The initiative Drinking Water for Haiti was born out of the desire to help the Haitian people after the events of January 12, 2010. The project is a volunteer run, humanitarian aid group aimed to provide an innovative and accessible solution to the drinking water crisis in Haiti, an initiative conceived to make a positive impact on the health of the most vulnerable population. Drinking Water for Haiti aims to help by donating at least 500 units of LifeStraw, the first winner of INDEX:Award in 2005,  to the Haitian people to provide safe drinking water and contain the spread of life-threatening disease among survivors.

This project is made possible thanks to a partnership between: Iglesia Bautista Internacional – a local church located in the city of Santo Domingo, Italy and Cluster Cultural Association for Innovation – a non-profit organization in Torino dedicated to research on the social impact of new technologies, and inventor and producer of the LifeStraw Vestergaard Frandsen –.

Donations can be made on the initiatives website with Paypal or via wire transfer http://drinkingwaterforhaiti.wordpress.com/
